HOW TO SELL YOUR BOOK FASTER

As a book publisher and a published author myself, I’ve seen countless investment gone as waste because authors could not sell their books. So I have come up with this post to help boost your chances of selling faster.

No hanky panky:

1. Write a solution: Usually, people with writing ability just come up with interesting materials that no one wants to read (sorry).
If you must sell your book then you have to treat it as a business except this is just a hobby for you. You must attend to a Point of Pain (POP) or a Point of Bliss (POB). Usually you attempt to solve the Point of Pain or trigger the Point of Bliss (example, romance novels).

People can hardly ignore these two: the solution to pain or the allure of bliss.

2. Show Authority: if you are to be known to be an authority in the subject matter you write about, you sell faster. For example, if you write a book in Volunteering without any experience, you may find it difficult to convince anyone that you have the solution. A prospective client once bought my book on entrepreneurship at the bookstore simply because he was thinking about doing business with me. He knew I was hands-on already and so I should be an authority although we’d never seen up till that time.

So, it’s important to build up your reputation as one who doesn’t just write but has the right information and cognate experience on the subject matter. One of the tricks is to start publishing content or speaking with focus on that subject matter a few weeks or months before you go public on the book. Start generating traction and so people will know that you really are an authority on the subject matter. Use live events, newspapers, Medium platform, social media, popular blogs, etc.
