What is a book without any reach or sales? That’s why you must get all your arsenal up to ensure your book sells. Having a launch can do the magic! You probably have heard about having a launch party for your book, maybe you have even done one.\u00a0If you haven\u2019t started considering a book launch for your next book, you should give it a shot.<\/p>\n

To conclude you had a successful launch, your launch must generate sales or more reach (in case your book is free).<\/p>\n

Many people have made the mistake of making their launch about their families alone (I need to really put this out). If you do that, and they aren\u2019t talking about your book, you probably did or will do a family gathering. After working with different authors, I can confidently say there\u2019s a right way and wrong way to set up your book launch.<\/p>\n

Now that we have that settled, let\u2019s talk about the things you must put in place to have a successful book launch.<\/p>\n

Give yourself enough time for promotion.<\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n

One major mistake people make when planning a book launch is that they work with a tight deadline. They spend the whole time writing only to talk about their book very close to the launch date. Choosing a launch date is big deal and make sure you leave room for adequate preparation. An ideal time to start talking about the book launch is 2 months with the assumption that you have talked about your book for at least two weeks before that.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Giving enough room for promotion always people know more about your book. The more you talk about it, the more it will be ingrained in their memory. Talk about your book launch every opportunity you get.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Decide whether it is virtual or not<\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Another thing you need to pay attention to is to decide what kind of launch you are going for. If you are going for a physical launch, know that it will cost you more. You need to add that to your budget. A virtual launch doesn\u2019t need a physical venue but you need to set up your virtual platform. Have plans.<\/p>\n

Have a launch team<\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Never forget this if you forget every other things. Having a launch team has its advantage. In fact, your launch team can serve duo purpose: Beta reader and event promoter. Setting up a launch team at the early stage of your writing is the key here.You can make them read the first or second draft of your book while they provide you with insights. They can provide you with honest reviews before the book hits print.<\/p>\n

Then they also take part in the publicity of your book.<\/p>\n

Have a marketing strategy <\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Monetise your launch! Ensure you have plans to make enough sales that day. The strategy \u00a0doesn\u2019t start on the launch date but even before that. You can slash the price of the book in anticipation of the book launch, you can offer the first chapter of the book as a bait for people to buy your book, and you can also up-sell the book.<\/p>\n

How do you do this? Plan webinar around the book and offer other services or products in line with your book.<\/p>\n

Have a budget<\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Maybe this should be the first. Plan your expenses well. Know if you are spending out of proportion. Ideally, your book launch should add more to you except in rare cases. Have spending plans and follow them.<\/p>\n

Leverage social media platform<\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Social media should be your friend at this time. Leverage all the opportunities you can get. Get influencers to talk about you book, pay for ad, leverage other people\u2019s blog posts. Make sure your book is talked about by other people. People buy more into your idea when others talk about it.<\/p>\n

Lastly, be your own promoter. No one can talk about your events and its benefits like you do.<\/p>\n

I believe if you can practise the thing listed here, you will record massive success. The world deserves to hear about your book, use your voice and leverage relationships. \u00a0<\/p>\n
